The award for the best websites according to the visitors is handed out every year in collaboration with:

Rules

Web Service Award acknowledges those who the visitors consider give the best web service

Companies, agencies, organizations or associations with a website aimed at the Swedish population or the Swedish market can take part in the awards. A well defined subsidiary site may also take part. This subsidiary site should be aimed at a specific target group out of the website's visitors. The jury decides on a case-to-case basis if a subsidiary site can take part in WSA.

WA website which is aimed at the Swedish population or the Swedish market, but also at other countries, can take part if there is a subsidiary site which is aimed specifically at the Swedish population or the Swedish market. In such cases it is the subsidiary site which takes part in WSA. The jury decides on a case-to-case basis if a subsidiary site can take part in WSA.

Websites containing material which is illegal or in some other way offensive can not take part in WSA. The jury decides whether a website can or can not take part in WSA because of such reasons.

Competition Stages

  1. In the first stage of the WSA a survey is conducted of visitors/consumers/customers at the respective competitor's website. A selection of visitors/consumers/customers evaluate respective website based on a number of criteria concerning the level of service of the website. These criteria are not the same for the two competition categories. WSA guarantees the anonymity and integrity of the respondents according to the SMIF rules (Sveriges marknadsundersöknings instituts förening = the Swedish marketing Association).
  2. Once completed, the results of the survey are compiled. In these results the WSI, Web Service Index, are reported for respective website. The ten competitors who have achieved the highest WSI score are nominated for a final round.
  3. The nominated websites are evaluated by WSA's jury. The jury selects four last round finalists within each category of competition, and elects a winner among these.

Grounds for Disqualification for Nomination

If the competitor in any way tries to manipulate the answers of the votes on their own website, the jury will decide about possible disqualification of the Web Service Award competitor. The competitor will however still be given the WSI as well as results and analysis report.

In cases where the number of respondents/visitors/consumers/customers is less than 100 the competing website will be excluded from WSA. The reason for this is that there is insufficient data to base the evaluation on compared to other participants in Web Service Award. In this case the competitor will be given the survey results in the form of a result and analysis report. The entry fee is not reimbursed. WSA AB can not guarantee that 100 or more visitors/consumers/customers elect to vote during the period of the competition.
